Questions people ask

When does a new puzzle come out?

At midnight where you are. Everyone plays the same five rounds on the same day. The How to play page has the full rules.

Where did my progress go?

There are no accounts, so your progress is saved on your own device. In a browser, it lives in that browser's storage: a different browser, a private window, or clearing your browser's data for swatchle.com starts fresh. In the iPhone app, it's saved on your phone, and deleting the app erases it. Progress can't move between devices.

The puzzle won't load

Swatchle needs a connection to load each day's puzzle. Check that you're online, then try again. The iPhone app keeps the day's puzzle once it has loaded, so you can finish the day without a connection, and it checks again by itself when it can't reach us.

How do I turn off the sound?

Tap the speaker button at the top of the game. On the web, it turns off sounds and vibration together. In the iPhone app, it turns off sounds, and you'll find Haptics in Settings, behind the gear on the home screen. The app also stays quiet when your iPhone is on silent.

How does the daily reminder work?

The iPhone app can send one reminder a day, at 9:00 AM unless you change it, and skips it once you've played. Turn it on or change the time in Settings. If reminders don't arrive, check that notifications are allowed for Swatchle in your iPhone's Settings, under Notifications.

Can I play past puzzles?

Yes, one clue at a time. Once you finish the day, choose "Play past clues" on the results screen. They don't count toward your day or your share.

I think an answer is wrong

Tell us. Write to hello@swatchle.com with the date, the round, and the color you'd pick instead. Every answer is checked by eye, but we can still miss one.

Is Swatchle on Android?

There's no Android app, but Swatchle plays in the browser on any phone, tablet, or computer at swatchle.com.

How is my data used?

The Privacy page explains what the game keeps on your device and what it counts.
